Stroudavarious Records James Stroud's history as a musician, producer, music publisher and industry executive spans over 40 years. As a percussionist he has played behind the likes of The Pointer Sisters, Paul Simon, Gladys Knight, Bob Seger and dozens more, and he produced his first hit in 1976 with the triple platinum-selling "Misty Blue" by Dorothy Moore. Many hits and production accolades have followed. After making his foray into the record label side of the industry, Stroud has been at the helm of Giant Records, DreamWorks Records Nashville and served as Co-Chairman of Universal Music Group in Nashville. There is no doubt that James Stroud is a true music visionary. To date, he has produced albums that have collectively sold over 52 million copies, and had more than 90 #1 records.
In 2008 Stroud teamed up with long-time friend and visionary entrepreneur, Ronnie Gilley of Ronnie Gilley Properties, to form their new independent record label, Stroudavarious Records. From its inception in mid-2008, Stroudavarious Records has attracted some of the finest artists in country music, including Willie Nelson and Darryl Worley, and currently boasts a roster that includes not only Nelson and Worley, but also former Lonestar frontman Richie McDonald, exciting newcomers LoCash Cowboys, Houston County and Rob Lane, compelling singer/songwriter Anthony Smith and the remarkable talent of Shelly Fairchild.
"Even though the business model of the music industry changes," Stroud has said, "the one constant has been the importance of the artists and their songs. The vision of Stroudavarious Records is for the creativity to take precedence and to allow the music to take care of the business."

BamaJam Records In July of 2009, partners James Stroud and Ronnie Gilley launched a new imprint of Stroudavarious Records called BamaJam Records, with Atlanta band Blackberry Smoke as its flagship artist. The first release one the label is the sophomore album from the southern rockers called Little Piece of Dixie. The project was produced by Dann Huff (Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts) and engineer Justin Niebank. “This is best live band in the South,” says James Stroud, CEO of Stroudavarious Records. “Their show is beyond belief - just awesome.” The band has shared the stage with ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed and many others.
Also on BamaJam Records is new country rocker, Matt Kennon, whose first single "The Call" has already spent two weeks as the #1 requested song on Dial Global Syndication's Hot Country format, and all this from an advance copy. The song, which speaks to the fact that, in this age of email, texting and social networking, we should all make the effort to call people more often, is set to make a major impact.
