johnathumb2No matter the genre, few vocalists are as instantly recognizable as John Anderson. A mainstay in the country music scene since the late 1970s, Anderson has charted over forty songs on Billboard’s country music charts, including 5 number one hits, and was awarded the Academy of Country Music’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. The release of Bigger Hands on June 9 is certain to keep that legacy alive and thriving.

As most other multi-platinum acts of his time have faded away, John Anderson continues to write and perform fresh and relevant music. One such example is “Shuttin’ Detroit Down,” co-written by Anderson and John Rich (half of the hit-making duo, Big & Rich), a defiant anthem that combines elements of working class pride and economic frustration due to the recent government bailouts.

Spreading virally through radio and Internet channels, this song is a substantial current radio hit for Rich For this new album, Anderson is reunited with producer James Stroud, who was at the production helm for Anderson’s two biggest-selling albums, the double-platinum Seminole Wind and the gold-certified Solid Ground.

The first single from Bigger Hands, “Cold Coffee And Hot Beer,” is another quintessential Anderson anthem making its way to country radio in April.
